Handbook
Preview the published player handbook, edit Markdown when ready, and publish new revisions.
Preview the published handbook
- Open Handbook from the admin sidebar under Content.
- Stay on the Current tab.
You land on the published handbook at /admin/handbook. Edit handbook opens /admin/handbook/edit with the Markdown editor. The preview uses the same safe Markdown renderer members see. Raw HTML stays disabled. Unpublished edits stay on the edit workflow until you publish.
The header shows Status (published revision or not published yet), Last published with publisher when available, and a header actions menu with Edit handbook.

The handbook opens on the published preview. Open the header actions menu and choose Edit handbook to change the Markdown.
Edit handbook Markdown
- Open Handbook from the admin sidebar under Content.
- Open the header actions menu and choose Edit handbook to open
/admin/handbook/edit. - Update the Markdown in Handbook Markdown.
- Choose Preview changes when you are ready for the next step.
The edit page autosaves while you work so you can leave without losing progress. Choose Preview changes at the bottom when your edits finish saving; that opens /admin/handbook/edit/preview.

Edit handbook opens /admin/handbook/edit with the Markdown editor and Preview changes.
Preview changes before publish
- Open Edit handbook and make your Markdown changes.
- Choose Preview changes at the bottom of the edit page.
- Review the rendered handbook on
/admin/handbook/edit/preview. - Choose Back to edit to keep editing, or Publish when the preview looks right.
The preview step uses the same safe Markdown renderer members see. It shows your current saved draft, not the published handbook on the Current tab.

Preview your saved draft before publishing.
Publish the handbook
- Open Preview changes after your edits finish saving.
- Choose Publish on the preview step.
- Enter a nonblank Change summary that describes what changed for other admins.
- Choose Publish in the confirmation dialog.
Publishing requires changes since the last publish and a saved edit session with no save in progress. A successful publish reports the new revision number, returns you to the published handbook on the Current tab, and updates the member handbook immediately. The change summary is stored in admin revision history only; members read the updated handbook content, not the summary.

Publish requires a change summary and uses your previewed handbook content.
Browse handbook revision history
- Open Handbook from the admin sidebar under Content.
- Choose the Revisions tab.
- Review published revisions newest-first. Each row shows the revision number, publication time, publisher, and change summary.
- Open any revision to read its complete immutable Markdown snapshot.
Revision history is admin-only and read-only. Members see only the current published handbook, not past revisions or change summaries. Compare, restore, edit, and delete actions are not available here.

Revision history lists published snapshots newest-first with attribution and summaries.
Open a published handbook snapshot
- Open Handbook and choose the Revisions tab.
- Choose a revision number from the list.
The snapshot page shows publication metadata and renders the complete handbook Markdown through the same safe renderer used elsewhere in Opal. Raw HTML stays disabled.

Published revision snapshots are read-only and show the full handbook content.
